About I Drank with Hank

I Drank With Hank is a roots-driven country music project born out of necessity—and love for the real thing. A spin-off of the Wisconsin-based Western Swing and honky-tonk revue Remington’s Ride, the project was created by frontman and lead guitarist Steve Miller to bring authentic country music to rooms of every size.

Remington’s Ride is a full-scale band built for dance halls and big stages, and while they pride themselves on keeping things lean and music-first, not every venue can accommodate a five- or six-piece outfit. I Drank With Hank fills that gap, delivering the same commitment to tradition, tone, and swing in a format that works just as well in listening rooms, bars, and intimate stages.

A Hank show is not a stripped-down afterthought or a “singles act.” It stays rooted in the Western swing and dance-hall honky tonk foundation that Remington’s Ride has spent over a decade refining, while also stretching into Americana, outlaw country, early rock ’n’ roll, and rockabilly. Above all else, the focus stays where it belongs: on the music, and the rich history and stories of the artists who built it.

What truly sets I Drank With Hank apart is its flexibility. The show can scale up or down to fit the room, the budget, and the vibe. Need a solo performance that can work a crowd with vintage western tunes and high-level guitar playing? You got it. Steve Miller isn’t the type to hide behind a microphone and strum—solo or full band, he plays all-in, every time. Want more firepower? Hank shows are also available as duos, trios, or quartets, featuring rotating members of Remington’s Ride and some of the finest musicians in the region.

Small stage or big room, quiet listening crowd or dance floor ready to move—I Drank With Hank brings real country music the way it was meant to be played: honest, energetic, and alive.
