I Drank with Hank

Real, raw, honest western swing, honky tonk, and Americana . . . just a country singer, his guitar and some tall tales . . .

Steve Miller

Steve Miller (no, not that Steve Miller) is a Wisconsin-born country guitarist, singer, and bandleader who has been creating and performing roots-driven country music for decades. Raised in a deeply musical household, Steve grew up surrounded by polka, swing, and church music, learning early the value of strong melodies, tight rhythm, and playing by ear.

That Saturday-night ritual of watching Hee Haw—and discovering the sounds of Buck Owens, Roy Clark, and Johnny Cash—set his course for good. Country music was calling, and Steve answered with a guitar in hand.

Mentored by local country guitar hero Beezer Ferguson of Radio Flyer fame, Steve honed his craft in chicken pickin’, western swing rhythm, and ear-driven lead work, developing a style aimed squarely at becoming a true player’s player. Over the years, he has shared the bill with country legends Wayne Hancock, Boxcar Willie, and Mel McDaniel, earning a reputation as a tasteful, hard-working guitarist with deep respect for tradition.

As the driving force behind his band Remington’s Ride, Steve has received multiple Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) nominations, further cementing his place in the regional roots and country scene. Whether onstage or in the studio, Steve Miller continues to keep real country music honest, swinging, and alive—no shortcuts, no gimmicks, and no confusion with that other guy.

“I’m one of Steve Miller’s biggest fans”

-Steve’s wife Kay
